![]() September 22 – The RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s Issues committee will host the Seventh Annual Latina Leadership Conference via Zoom. Tickets are $100 per person for a night of food, entertainment, Vegas-stayle gambling, and the opportunity to win prizes. September 18 – The McAllen Public Library is hosting a Wild West Casino Night Fundraiser on from 7 to 10 p.m. Rates are $1.50 for adults ages 14 and up 50 cents for children ages 2 through 13 and, children under two years of age are free. At least one family member must show proof at the gate. Residents will need to show proof of residency, such as a driver’s license, utility receipt or school ID. September 17-19 – To mark the 50-year anniversary of the opening of Gladys Porter Zoo, visitors from Hidalgo and Starr counties will be charged the same admission rates paid when the zoo first opened its gates to the public in 1971. Call ahead at 95 to confirm the program schedule and for information details. Park guests will meet at the tram turnaround at the headquarters. ![]() All programs are free with park admission, but reservations are required. and fishing for beginners will be held at 1 p.m. September 17-19 – Bentsen-RGV State Park staff will host a night hike on Friday at 8 p.m., their Aquatic Safari on Saturday at 2 p.m., and then on Sunday, Kayaking 101 begins at 9:30 a.m. ![]()
